§ Mr. GreenThe proportions of the cost of the National Health Service, excluding local authority expenditure, met from the National Health element in National Insurance contributions in the financial year 1951–52 and from the separate National Health Service contributions in 1963–64—budget estimate—were 9.2 per cent. and 16.9 per cent. respectively.
