HC Deb 17 February 1964 vol 689 cc140-1W
Mr. Gresham Cooke

asked the Minister of Health how many hospitals were completed in England and Wales, respectively, in 1963; what was the total cost thereof; and what is the approximate value of hospital schemes which are still in progress or for which approval has been given.

Mr. Braine

One new general hospital and one new dental hospital, and phases of one new and five substantially remodelled hospitals were completed in England in 1963; the total cost was £7.0 million; no new hospitals were completed in Wales in 1963; the approximate value of the hospital schemes now in progress and authorised to start next financial year is £300 million.
