§ Mr. Masonasked the Prime Minister if he will conduct an inquiry into the use of General Post Office facilities for the distribution of political pamphlets by private organisations, bearing in mind the concern expressed by hon. Members and his predecessor on 12th November, 1958, on the use of mailing lists, and in view of Establishment Circular No. 36/58, which was sent to all Government Departments as a result; and if he will make a statement.

44WThe Household Delivery Service which the hon. Member has in mind is a public service available to everyone. There is no question, as there was in 1958, of information compiled for Departmental use being placed at the disposal of outside bodies; and I see no need for an inquiry.
