Lewisasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs if he will give the total amount of grants and subsidies paid to local authorities for housing in the calendar year 1951; and, taking that year as being 100 per cent., what has been the percentage rise or fall in such grants for each of the calendar years to date.

The total amount of Exchequer subsidies and grants paid to local authorities in 35W England and Wales in respect of permanent housing in 1951–52 was £25,396,661.
