§ Sir Knox Cunninghamasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will approach the Government of the British Virgin Islands and ask whether they wish the enlarged Admiralty jurisdiction conferred upon the High Court of the United Kingdom by the Administration of Justice Act, 1956, to be extended to the British Virgin Islands by an Order in Council.
§ Mr. SandysThe enlarged Admiralty jurisdiction conferred upon the High Court of the United Kingdom by the Administration of Justice Act, 1956 was extended to the British Virgin Islands (the Supreme Court of which is the Supreme Court of the Windward Islands and Leeward Islands) by the Admiralty Jurisdiction (Virgin Islands) Order in28W Council, 1961 of the 24th October, 1961 (S.I. 1961 No. 2033). This Order in Council was one of those listed in my Answer to the hon. and learned Member circulated in the OFFICIAL REPORT Of the 20th December, 1963.
