§ 54. Sir D. Walker-Smithasked the Minister of Transport whether, in view of the requirements of safety, he will authorise the installation of traffic signals at the junction of Great Cambridge Road and Church Lane, Cheshunt.
§ Mr. SwinglerWe are not satisfied that traffic signals would improve safety here. The existing halt signs in Church Lane are being replaced by larger stop signs of the kind prescribed in the new Traffic Signs Regulations and some improvements are being made in visibility at the junction. We are also considering whether it would help to move the starting point of the speed restriction on Great Cambridge Road a little further north.
