§ Mr. Boxasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will consult the Chief Constable of Cardiff and set up an inquiry into the wave of hooliganism which has led to the withdrawal of public transport services after 9.30 p.m. daily in the city of Cardiff.
§ Mr. George ThomasI understand that so far this year fourteen incidents of minor assaults by passengers on members of bus crews in Cardiff have been reported to the police, resulting in eight prosecutions. My right hon. Friend has asked the Chief Constable for a full report, but he is not at present aware of any grounds for the setting up of any formal inquiry.
