§ THE JOINT PARLIAMENTARY UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE, HOME OFFICE (LORD STONHAM)Between 21st March, 1957 (when the Homicide Act came into force) and 11th December, 1964, fifty-two persons were convicted in England and Wales of capital murder, of whom twenty-nine were executed. The corresponding figures for Scotland were ten and three.
