§ Mr. DiamondThe review of local government finance is being carried out inter-Departmentally, and it would not be appropriate to give the particulars of representation and so on mentioned by the hon. Member. The review is broad, including the rating system, other possible sources of local revenue, the grant system and the probable growth of local authority expenditure. Later, there will be discussions with the local authority associations, and the Government will inform Parliament of their conclusions as soon as possible.
