HC Deb 14 December 1964 vol 704 c13W
69. Sir J. Eden

asked the Minister of Health if he will give a list of the countries with whom there are reciprocal agreements to enable British subjects to obtain medical treatment free of charge or at low fixed rates in the event of their becoming injured or falling sick whilst visiting those countries; and what further agreements are now under negotiation.

Sir B. Stross

Treatment is available covering short-term visitors in Denmark, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden and Yugoslavia. It is also available for members of local sickness insurance schemes in Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, the Federal Republic of Germany and Switzerland, and for limited groups in Australia, Israel and Malta.

No new agreements are at present under negotiation.
