§ Sir Richard Glynasked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs whether he is aware that the County of Dorset, which will form part of the new South-Western Region, is the only county which is also included in the area covered by the existing Plan for the South-East; what steps he is taking to ensure that Dorset does not suffer from a duplication of planning; and whether he is satisfied that these arrangements will not delay planning decisions now outstanding which are already overdue.
§ Mr. FoleyYes. In exercising its co-ordinating functions the Department of Economic Affairs will take into account the fact that Dorset has affiliations with other areas besides the South-West. My right hon. Friend is satisfied that the arrangements which he has made will not result in planning decisions being delayed.
