17. Mr. Shinwell

asked the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs what discussion he had with the West German Government on the subject of support costs based on the presence of British forces in Germany; and what was the result.

44. Mr. Lipton

asked the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs what stage has been reached in the discussions with the Federal German Government about support costs of the British Army of the Rhine.

47. Mr. W. Hamilton

asked the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs if he will make a statement on the recent talks with the West German Government on the question of the cost of United Kingdom military commitments in Germany.

Mr. Padley

In the course of his convesations with the Federal German Chancellor and Foreign Minister in Bonn on 15th November, the Foreign Secretary emphasised the importance which Her Majesty's Government attach to the successful implementation of the Offset Agreement signed last July. Progress in implementing the Agreement was reviewed by British and German officials at the meeting in London on 8th December of the Joint Committee set up under the Offset Agreement.
