§ 35. Mr. Ian Lloydasked the President of the Board of Trade, in view of the inability of his Department to make an assessment of the effect of port working on the exports and payments accounts of the United Kingdom, how soon he 210W expects the statistical services to be established by the National Ports Council to provide his Department with such information.
§ Mr. RedheadSuch an assessment is not to be expected from the National Ports Council which, under the Harbours Act, 1964, has only limited powers to collect information. The statistics which the Council will provide from next year onwards will however help to throw some light on these complex problems.
