§ 54. Sir J. Edenasked the Minister of Transport in how many cases in the past year he has confirmed an Order, in accordance with Section 93 of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act, 1949, to restrict traffic in a national park or area of outstanding beauty and what consideration he is giving to amending the existing procedure so as to give more power to the planning authority concerned to limit to reasonable levels the number of vehicles entering their area in order to preserve its natural beauty.
§ Mr. Tom FraserNone. If there are conflicting interests between the highway and the planning authorities it seems to me that this should be settled by consultation. As far as I am aware there is very little evidence of such conflict.
