§ 72. Mr. Fisherasked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations what representations were made, other than on the shortness of notice given, to the Kenya Government about the deportation of Mr. Richard Beeston.
§ Mr. Cledwyn HughesThe Acting British High Commissioner approached the Kenya Government at Mr. Beeston's request in order to ask that the order of expulsion should be rescinded or that, if this was not acceptable, the notice given should be extended. He was told that the Kenya Government were determined not to vary their decision. He pressed for an extension but this was refused.
