§ Mr. Jacksonasked the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs whether Her Majesty's 204W Government will contribute to the costs of the United Nations peace-keeping force in Cyprus during the current period of its mandate.
§ Mr. George ThomsonHer Majesty's Government have agreed to make a contribution of $1 million towards the cost of the United Nations force in Cyprus during the current three month period, in addition to continuing to provide free of charge a contingent of about 1,100 men. They have also agreed to provide free of charge the transportation required to rotate the Danish contingent, the cost of which will be of the order of £67,000. Parliament will in due course be asked by means of a Supplementary Estimate to vote whatever portion of this contribution is necessary during the current Financial Year.
