HC Deb 29 April 1964 vol 694 c56W
11. Mr. Hannan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he has now considered the views of the legal and other bodies concerned on the recommendations of the Reid Report on Title to Lands and Conveyancing; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Noble

I have not yet received observations from all the bodies that I consulted. Meanwhile, as recommended in the Report, I am setting up a small expert Committee on conveyancing with the following terms of referenceTo examine and report on existing conveyancing legislation and practice in relation to heritable and moveable property and to make recommendations with a view to amending or new legislation".

Professor J. M. Halliday, of Glasgow University, has very kindly agreed to act as Chairman of this Committee. I shall in due course announce the names of the other members.
