§ Mr. Carmichaelasked the Minister of Aviation if he is satisfied with the present design of seat belt for passenger aircraft from the safety point of view; and if comparison tests of effectiveness have been carried out using cross harness.
§ Mr. MartenAll seat belts installed on passenger aircraft have to meet British civil airworthiness requirements and there is no reason to doubt the safety of their design. The Ministry is investigating the effectiveness of various types of cross-harness as compared with belts and is taking into account relevant experience of motor cars.
