HC Deb 21 April 1964 vol 693 cc156-7W
46 and 47. Mr. Tiley

asked the Postmaster-General (1) why there was a delay of one hour on the morning of 13th April on trunk calls from Bradford to London; and how often each week this kind of delay occurs;

(2) why there was a delay of one hour on the morning of 13th April on trunk calls from Bradford to Birmingham; and how often each week this kind of delay occurs.

Mr. Bevins

I believe the delays to which my hon. Friend refers are quite exceptional. They were due to the main trunk cable being crushed by a bulldozer during road work operations and were in no sense the fault of the Post Office.
