§ 29. Dr. Brayasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what arrangements have been made for the support of work on the generation of electricity from hot gases at the International Research and Development Company's laboratory at Newcastle.
§ 31. Dame Irene Wardasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what action he is taking to ensure that the development of a machine for boosting the output of nuclear power stations by the International Research and Development Company of Newcastle-upon-Tyne is proceeded with in this country; and what part has been played in this matter by the National Development Corporation.
§ Mr. HoggA request for support of the magnetohydrodynamics project at the International Research and Development Company was received by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research in January this year. The proposal is one of several in this field and is being assessed with the help of the Ministry of Power, the Central Electricity Generating Board, the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority and the National Research Development Corporation.
§ Mr. W. Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what representations have been made to him concerning financial assistance for the development of new techniques designed to produce cheaper electricity, and, in particular, for the project now being worked on at the Newcastle-on-Tyne laboratories of the International Research and Development Company.
