§ 57. Mr. Clive Bossomasked the Minister of Transport whether, in view of the higher standards laid down in the Revised British Standard Code of Practice for Street Lighting, he will increase grants for the lighting of trunk roads from 50 to 100 per cent. and take the necessary steps to make lighting expenditure on classified roads eligible for grant.
§ Mr. MarplesThe code is unlikely to make any significant difference to the cost of street lighting on traffic routes. A change in the present financial arrangements would depend upon other considerations.
