§ Mr. Shinwellasked the Minister of Transport when the proposed scheme for the reconstruction of the A.19 road between Sheraton Road End and Cold Hesledon will begin; and when it will be completed.
§ Mr. MarplesAcquisition of land for the Sheraton and Shotton diversion schemes has proved to be more complicated than expected and I am having to use compulsory purchase powers. Draft compulsory purchase orders will be published by the end of this month and I am still hopeful that we will have completed the processes required in time for a start of works in the current financial year. The works will take about 18 months to complete.
