§ Mr. Clive Bossomasked the Minister of Transport why there has been a delay in producing the new continental style road signs as recommended by the Worboys Committee; and when he anticipates that the signs will be available for installation.
§ Mr. MarplesI am proceeding as quickly as possible with the production of the necessary Regulations prescribing the signs and, as required by the Road Traffic Act, 1960, I will shortly be consulting representative organisations about them.
I hope that it will be possible to lay the new Regulations before the House in July and general introduction of the signs will follow.
