§ 41. Mr. C. Hughesasked the Minister of Health how much of the cost of drugs sold by private companies to the National Health Service was attributable to sales promotion to doctors, including the cost of samples and advertising literature, during each of the last three years.
§ Mr. BraineI regret that information is not available in the form requested, but, as the hon. Member will already know, in 1961 the total cost of sales promotion by pharmaceutical manufacturers amounted to rather less than 10 per cent, of their total sales.
