HC Deb 22 November 1963 vol 684 c156W
Mr. A. Lewis

asked the Minister of Public Building and Works what action Her Majesty's Government propose to take to prevent men and materials from being used to construct bingo halls, betting shops and other inessential buildings and to use them for building houses, schools and colleges.

Mr. Rippon

I consider that the measures at present being taken to increase the capacity of the construction industries will enable them to meet the requirements of both the public and private sectors.
