§ Mr. Brewisasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will state the number of holdings in Dumfries and Galloway respectively which qualified for assistance under the Marginal Agricultural Production Scheme in 1958, and the number which will benefit under the Winter Keep Scheme.
§ Mr. NobleIn Dumfries 387 farms and in Galloway 460 qualified for assistance in 1958 under the Marginal Agricultural Production Scheme. Under the Winter Keep Scheme 629 farms in Dumfries and 560 farms in Galloway will benefit. In both areas further farms may become eligible for the Winter Keep Grants as a result of appeals.
