HC Deb 21 November 1963 vol 684 cc133-4W
Commander Kerans

asked the Minister of Education if he will institute research into the size and clarity of type used for children's reading matter in order to propose a standard which will cause the minimum eye strain.

Sir E. Boyle

No. I am satisfied that in ordering books for use in their schools local education authorities choose those of a high standard of production. It is not within my province to recommend standards of type for children's papers and non-educational reading matter.
