Mr. PriceThe White Paper setting out the Government's plan for dealing with the problems of the North-East was published on Thursday, 14th November. The Lord President's report was prepared76W for the consideration of his colleagues and must remain confidential, like any other Cabinet business.
§ 54. Mr. Shinwellasked the Secretary of State for Industry, Trade and Regional Development when Her Majesty's Government propose to implement the report on the North East.
Mr. PriceThe plan is being implemented. Discussions with the interested parties on many of the detailed proposals are in hand, and the first conference of regional officers takes place in Newcastle tomorrow.
