§ 56. Sir G. Nabarroasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, having regard to the religious, social, economic and other advantages to be derived from a fixed date for Easter, as recommended by the Vatican, and not opposed by the Anglican and Scottish churches, whether he will set up a committee to inquire further into the matter.
§ Mr. BrookeEaster is a world wide Christian festival, and I think that any alteration in its date needs to be preceded by agreement among the Churches. I do not therefore consider that it would be for me to set up a Committee.
