§ Mr. R. A. ButlerMy right hon. Friend the Chief Secretary to the Treasury announced on 12th October, when he was in Rome, that Her Majesty's Government wished to give £20,000 towards the cost of relief work. This offer has been gratefully accepted. Parliament will in due course be asked to vote that amount by means of a Supplementary Estimate. In the meantime, an advance has been made from the Civil Contingencies Fund as required.
