§ Sir E. BoyleLocal education authorities, head teachers and youth employment officers encourage young people to stay on at school or to attend full-time or part-time courses at colleges of further education.
For those school leavers who do not wish to continue their formal education, a number of authorities have provided special courses, or made exceptional arrangements to enable young people to attend existing courses until they can find a job.
