Hamiltonasked the Minister of Labour if he is aware that building trade workers in Glenrothes and in other parts of Scotland have been given notice following the closure of a large building firm; and whether, with a view to finding them employment. he will make an inquiry into the circumstances of this closure and the consequent redundancies.
§ Mr. WhitelawThe firm withdrew the notices two days after they had been issued, and our local officers are doing 157W all they can to help them re-engage the men. I do not think an inquiry would serve any useful purpose.
