HL Deb 09 May 1963 vol 249 c972WA
THE EARL OF HARROWBY

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will make financial provision in the preparation of the next estimates to enable the Trustees of the British Museum to provide for adequate refreshment accommodation and relevant facilities for the public, immediately following on the completion of the alterations which are about to be started to the present buildings.

EARL JELLICOE

There have been preliminary discussions with the Museum authorities about a new restaurant. This scheme must, however, be considered in relation to other urgent projects at the Museum and I regret that Her Majesty's Government cannot undertake that provision for this service will be sought in next year's Estimates.

House adjourned at twenty-four minutes before eleven o'clock.
