§ 48. Mr. E. Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has yet completed his consideration of the poisons whose use will be prohibited under the Animals (Cruel Poisons) Act; how soon he expects to make the necessary regulations; and whether the list of poisons to be prohibited will include red squill, phosphorus, arsenic, barium carbonate, strychnine, except for moles, brucine, fluorine compounds, thallium sulphate, sulphur dioxide and ANTU.
§ Mr. WoodhouseMy right hon. Friend has decided, in consultation with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland, to prohibit the use of red squill and phosphorus against animals and to restrict the use of strychnine to the destruction of moles and, in Scotland only, of seals. He hopes to make the necessary regulations shortly.
