HC Deb 29 March 1963 vol 674 c200W
Sir H. d'Avigdor-Goldsmid

asked the Minister of Transport whether his attention has been drawn to the collision at Pelsall Common crossroads on Saturday, 16th March, as a result of which six people were taken to hospital and are still detained there; and whether, in view of the regularity with which accidents of this sort occur at these crossroads, he will reconsider his previous decision and authorise "Halt" signs to be put up at least for a trial period.

Mr. Marples

I have seen a preliminary report of the accident. There is nothing in it to suggest that my decision not to authorise the "Halt" signs was wrong. At the request of the Aldridge Urban District Council, my Department is arranging to discuss the future treatment of this junction with representatives of the Council. I will let my hon. Friend know the outcome.
