HC Deb 25 March 1963 vol 674 c111W
2. Mr. Emrys Hughes

asked the Minister without Portfolio to what extent his duties have been exercised in Scotland; and what expenditure he has incurred there since his appointment.

Mr. Deedes

I have visited Scotland since my appointment and seen the information services at work there, and I intend to repeat such visits. I am always willing to advise on publicity for Scotland and on the presentation of policies affecting Scotland and I have on several occasions discussed these matters with my right hon. Friend and Secretary of State. As regards expenditure, my function is to co-ordinate the information services and I do not myself incur expenditure in this capacity.
