asked the Minister of Transport when it is proposed to start work on the ring road across Westgate Fields, Chichester.

Mr. Marples

This is a classified road for which the West Sussex County Council is the highway authority. There are other more urgent schemes for which it has not yet been possible to find a place in my programme. I cannot therefore forecast when work will start.
