HC Deb 25 March 1963 vol 674 cc115-6W
39. Mr. Marsh

asked the Minister of Labour why facilities which were granted by his Department to the representatives of the Bank Staff Associations to discuss the effect of the Payment of Wages Act upon bank employees were refused to the National Union of Bank Employees.

Mr. Whitelaw

The Central Council of Bank Staff Associations asked for a meeting and this was arranged. There was no question of refusing to discuss the subject with the National Union of Bank Employees. They did not ask for a meeting. The National Union of Bank Employees are of course affiliated to the T.U.C. and the T.U.C. was fully consulted.
