Mrs. Butlerasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what discussions he has had with manufacturers to restrict the production of foaming detergents which cannot be destroyed at sewage farms.
§ Mr. CorfieldMethods of reducing the difficulties, including foaming, caused by synthetic detergents, are being studied by a Standing Technical Committee on Synthetic Detergents, which includes representatives of all the major manufacturers and of my Department. I am sending the hon. Member a copy of the Committee's last report.
