§ Mr. Denzil FreethThe Advisory Council on Scientific Policy, in Table V on page 34 of their Report for 1961.62 (Cmnd. 1920), estimate total Government expenditure on research and development in private industry at £177 million. The proportion of this which is being spent in Scotland is not known.
