§ Mr. Benceasked the Parliamentary Secretary for Science what proposals he has had from the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research/National Research Development Corporation Joint Development Committee for the further development of the machine tool industry in Scotland.
§ Mr. Denzil FreethIt is not the function of this Committee to make recommendations for the setting up of new industries, but to consider specific proposals for research and development projects. It is for industry to put forward projects for assistance through the civil 31W development contracts procedure but to qualify these must be technologically advanced.
