asked Her Majesty's Government:

  1. (1) Whether Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Mongolian People's Republic has yet presented his credentials, and, if not, when it is anticipated that he will do so; and
  2. (2) Whether they will state the composition of the permanent diplomatic mission in Ulan Bator.

THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS (THE EARL OF DUNDEE)

Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Mongolian People's Republic has not yet presented his credentials but hopes to be able to do so shortly.

Her Majesty's Government do not at present intend to establish a permanent mission in Ulan Bator. Her Majesty's Ambassador will continue to reside in Peking where he is concurrently accredited to the Government of the People's Republic of China as Her Majesty's Chargé d'Affaires.
