§ Mr. Turnerasked the Minister of Aviation if he will temporarily postpone the date of 1st January, 1964, mentioned in paragraph 51 of the White Paper on Aviation Safety, Command Paper No. 1695, by which candidates for the commercial pilot's licence must have attended approved courses.
§ Mr. MartenYes. My right hon. Friend recognises that this date will not now give adequate time to consider and act on any recommendations from the Committee on Pilot Training now sitting under the Chairmanship of the Duke of Hamilton. The requirement will therefore be postponed for not less than twelve months.
