HL Deb 11 March 1963 vol 247 cc689-90WA
LORD MORRIS

asked Her Majesty's Government:

The circumstances in which the Ministry of Public Building and Works has leased a newly-erected building at 26–28, Mount Row, Grosvenor Square, from Corob Holdings Ltd.; in particular, what premium was paid; what is the rent and how long is the lease.

THE JOINT PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY, MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT (LORD HASTINGS)

The accommodation was required to meet a demand for which no suitable alternative was available. No premium was paid. It would be contrary to precedent to give the other information requested by the noble Lord in respect of an individual commercial transaction such as a lease.

House adjourned at eighteen minutes past six o'clock.
