§ Mr. John MacLeodasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if, in view of the need to open up that part of Inverness to the Highland tourist industry, he will authorise at an early date the construction of the Kinlochmordart new road.
§ Mr. NobleYes. I am aware of the importance of this new road to the local people and to the tourist industry and 1 am glad to inform my hon. Friend that I have now offered to Inverness County Council a grant of 75 per cent. of the estimated cost of £841,500. I hope that this will enable work to start at the beginning of next month.
