HC Deb 04 March 1963 vol 673 c9W
60. Mr. Boyden

asked the Parliamentary Secretary for Science, as representing the Lord President of the Council, what new plans he has for alleviating unemployment in South-West Durham by building Government advance factories west of the A.1.

Mr. Denzil Freeth

My noble Friend recognises the value of advance factories as an inducement to attract industry to the North-East. He is therefore considering whether more should be put in hand, in addition to the seven which have already been announced, and he will bear in mind the claims of S.W. Durham.
