§ Mr. Sydney Irvingasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what conclusions he has come to on the effectiveness of the trial period of the voluntary code of standards for the control of advertisements on business premises adopted by the Advertising Association; and what further action he is considering.
§ Sir K. JosephI have informed the Chairman of the Consultative Committee administering the code of standards for advertising on business premises that in my view the results of the industry's campaign to reduce advertising "clutter" are not yet as satisfactory as I would wish. I have asked the industry to intensify their efforts.
