§ Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps he intends to take on the disparities between the salaries and conditions of service between English and Scottish probation officers.
§ Mr. NobleI have made rules implementing an award of the Industrial Court which brings the salaries of basic grade probation officers in Scotland into line with those in England and Wales. On higher grades I expect shortly to receive the recommendations of the negotiating body.
