§ 29. Mr. Wingfield Digbyasked the Minister of Defence whether he will make a statement on the decline in recruiting for the Army and Royal Air Force.
§ Mr. ThorneycroftThere has been no decline in recruiting for the R.A.F., entries have been cut back to match requirements. Some decline in Army recruiting, as compared with the high rate of 1962, was anticipated, but even so the rate of recruiting this year has been disappointing. Steps are being taken to secure an improvement.
