In the six months from October, 1962, to March, 1963, inclusive, hospital works to the value of £1,520,000 were completed; these provided 146 new hospital beds. At the end of March schemes to cost £12,722,000 were in progress, including 10 schemes costingover £250,000 of which the new Maternity Hospital at Yorkhill, Glasgow, and the second extension to Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, will each cost over £1 million, and the new hospitals at Dunoon and Fort William will each cost about £½ million.
